Fostering outcome oriented discussions
Fostering outcome oriented discussions

Each conference/event is different in terms of format, and expectations of the convener, speakers and audience. My role is to ensure dynamic interaction, create rhythm, spark and sustain interest and steer the discussion beyond "run of the mill" towards actionable outcomes and genuine insights.

As a seasoned session moderator, I facilitate lively and insightful discussions on a broad range of topics from economic, geopolitical and business issues, to technology, innovation and entrepreneurship, self development and beyond.

With more than thirty years in the conference business, including four years as a global positioning and public relations consultant, I have assisted numerous clients in pratically all aspects of what makes a conference/summit/forum, event a high take-home value experience. You could say that I fell in the conference business as a teenager and never really left. The beauty of a conference is that you get to create something from A to Z and see it happen. Having started as an intern, moving through media relations, press conferences, event management, program development and speaker identification, I know first hand what each task entails.
My areas of expertise include geopolitical analysis, positioning consultancy, risk and crisis management, and event creation and management.
I was born, raised and educated in Switzerland starting my professional career - after a BA in political science and a Master of international law - as Business Development Manager and Project Manager for Global Event Management, a company specialized in creating and organizing corporate and international conferences worldwide. I moved to New York to join the Dilenschneider Group, a public relations firm specialized in communications strategy and crisis management, with clients among the Fortune 500 companies and high-profile individuals. I left Dilenschneider to open Smadja & Smadja USA in 2003.
On a personal note, I am privileged to have adopted horses and dogs who have been my teachers forcing me to be fully present with them and making me more alert to the non verbal cues we human tend to forget. These teachings have proven to be most helpful in the professional field.
I am fluent in English and French, with a working knowledge of Spanish.
